We had a dry and bright, and surprisingly warm morning for the Consolation. But in return we had to put up with quite a strong wind, generally northerly, making it hard going on the clamber North from Broadbridge Heath. With Simon & Jen on Honeymoon in Italy and Joe also visiting family in Italy we were left with only 6 starters in the event. Grant, although entered in the event was not allowed out the house due to the imminent arrival of a grandchild and the need to be ready for chauffeur duty. Mick Ayliffe brought some clubmates and added another 50% to the field size, though.
Iain rode his first - and presumably only - 25 of the year, he and Tony being the only rides inside evens this morning. Jake punctured at Ockley on the way down the A29.
